One of the NHL's most exciting future superstars is the Utah Mammoth's center, Logan Cooley. Cooley managed to put up some pretty good stats despite playing only 54 games in the 2025-26 season and helped Utah reach the postseason for the first time in its history. The Mammoth hopes to get an even better version of Cooley in the future and hopes Cooley can become one of the best players in the NHL.
2025-26 Stats: 24 G, 19 A, 43 PTS, 3+/-, 2.0 WAR
Overall, for playing in only 54 games, meaning he missed 30, Cooley performed quite well for Utah. Cooley scored 24 goals, which would be 36 had he played 82 games, and although he lacked in the assists category, having only 19, he was an overall really solid offensive player for the Mammoth in the 25-26 season. Cooley had a positive plus/minus with an amazing shooting percentage of 23.5, which was among the highest in the league.
Overall, the production of the 22-year-old, who was only 21 until May 4th, was good. His WAR (wins above replacement, or the amount of wins he provided over the average NHL center) was also a good 2.0, and would've been 3.1 had he played in 82 games. Ultimately, it was a really nice season from the youngster.
2025-26 Grade: A
Although Cooley had only 19 assists, for only being 22 years old, He was quite impressive in 54 games, thanks to his 24 goals. In the future, the Mammoth would love to see Cooley add some assists, but being a consistent goal scorer is also awesome for the former 3rd pick overall. The best thing about his season is the potential for Cooley.
This 25-26 season showed that Cooley can be among the best centers in the NHL and showed he is a great goal scorer. Ultimately, in any sport, whenever a 21-year-old or 22-year-old puts up good offensive stats, the season is just a taste of what the youngster can do in the future. 2025-26 was the same for the future superstar, Logan Cooley. Cooley's grade deserves to be high.
The Mammoth Youth Movement Is Very Exciting
One thing that is for sure about the Mammoth for future seasons is that they will be very fun to watch. Dylan Guenther is just 23, Daniil But is 21, Caleb Desnoyers is 19, Tij Iginla is 19, and Dimitri Simashev is 21. This doesn't even talk about Cooley, and it really shows that the Utah Mammoth are here to stay. Cooley is only one of many players who will eventually blossom into stars for Utah. As long as the Utah Mammoth don't look to trade for a big star, then the Mammoth should remain a young and exciting team for years to come.
Hopefully, the 2025-26 season is just a taste of what is to come from Cooley. After all, the youth of the Mammoth is something very exciting to see, and Cooley is one of the best young players in the NHL.
