The NHL recently ranked the top 20 wings, with one Mammoth player reaching the list. Despite others having a pretty good case, Clayton Keller certainly deserves such recognition. Keller has been the best player for both the Mammoth and the Arizona Coyotes for a while now. Now, Keller is getting more help with Vincent Trocheck, Dylan Guenther, and others, and Utah hopes to finally become a juggernaut.
Keller ranked as the 17th-best wing in the NHL
Guenther, a winger himself, definitely could've made the top 20 after a 40-goal, 74-point season. However, the Mammoth still got one player on the list with Keller, who once again put up nice numbers in the 2025-26 season: 26 G, 62 A, 88 PTS. Keller has now had back-to-back seasons with 88+ points, after scoring 90 points the season prior. Keller has been by far the best offensive player for Utah, at least in terms of balance, in the franchise's history. Keller is a very effective goal scorer, with three straight 30+ goal seasons before his 26-goal season in 2025-26. Even with the dip in goal scoring, Keller still never lost his effectiveness, as Keller became a huge part of the offense in terms of adding assists.
With players like Guenther, Nick Schmaltz, Logan Cooley, and now even more goal scorers, Keller is definitely increasing in importance when it comes to assists. The Mammoth definitely wants to get Keller more help, as other players seemed to lack in the assists game. At the very least, Trocheck can help in that portion of the game, and one prospect, Tij Iginla, one of the best in the NHL, seems elite in both goal scoring and assists. Keller definitely deserves to be seen as one of the best wings in the NHL, as Keller has been the driving force of an offense that became much better in the 2025-26 season.
