One big domino that hasn't fallen this offseason is a big trade target. There are some names such as Dylan Larkin that haven't fallen either, but this one might stand as being a little more interesting.
Kirill Marchenko, Columbus Blue Jacket, has had plenty of trade rumors swirl aroung him, but he remains untraded. Perhaps the Utah Mammoth could pursue this domino in the right situation.
Could Utah still seek more?
In all likeliness, the Mammoth offseason, which has been a mammoth of an offseason, is over. But one must ask: is Utah a good suitor for the Blue Jackets and Marchenko? It still seems like the Blue Jackets are trying to trade Marchenko before the beginning of the season, and a few teams have consistently come up in rumpors.
First, the Montreal Canadians, but among some others, the Mammoth have been mentioned. Utah would have to really determine if their offseason has been enough, and if they could use another superstar winger. But when it comes to teams that could pretty easily afford Marchenko, well, Utah can.
Utah is young and can afford a lot of different superstars. Not to say that it won't be expensive, because it would be, but Utah may try to add someone else before the beginning of the season. The Mammoth don't need to with their additions and some of their prospects though. The Mammoth lack of really good players may have them a little bit behind teams like the Minnesota Wild, Colorado Avalanche, and more.
But... Utah seems like there more interested in developing a top three like what other teams have. Tij Iginla, Dylan Guenther, Logan Cooley, and Clayton Keller for example could be a nasty corps in the future. It should be known that Utah could trade for Marchenko anyway, but there remains a high price for the 25-year-old offensive force.
