The Utah Mammoth are looking to get a second straight win tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Mammoth crushed the Chicago Blackhawks at home on Thursday, winning 6-0 while dominating the great majority of the game.
Utah begins a five game road trip against the Blue Jackets.
Who: Utah Mammoth (1-0-0) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (1-0-0)
Where: ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney Plus.
When: Oct. 3rd. 5:00 p.m. MT
Injuries
Blue Jackets:
The Blue Jackets remain a fully healthy team.
Mammoth:
Other than Maveric Lamoureux, who over the week received shoulder surgery, Utah doesn't have any injuries either.
Does Utah continue to dominate?
The Blue Jackets present a much bigger challenge than the Blackhawks did. The Hawks lacked offensive explosiveness and couldn't create much in the offensive zone.
Columbus most certainly won't be like that. Rather quickly, Matthew Knies had a big impact with the Blue Jackets with two goals and an assist. That Blue Jacket has the potential to be an absolute problem to deal with compared to the likes of Chicago.
For Utah, dominating in the hits category and just being physical allowed them to kill the Hawks offense and earn the first ever shutout in Utah's history at home.
The Prediction:
5-3. Utah wins. Expect the Mammoth to be a problem almost every time they hit the ice. This time, Utah shouldn't blow their opponent out of the water. But they should be able to display some offensive dominance with that dangerous second line.
The Hawks didn't have a guy like Knies or even Adam Fantilli, but that doesn't make up for the offense that Utah has.
