What does Utah need to do to improve?
With Sebastian Cossa in the net on Thursday, the Boston Bruins smelt blood in the water and jumped all over Utah.
The Mammoth actually had to pull it's goalie after Utah allowed three goals in the second period. Even with Karel Vejmelka however, Utah still allowed three goals in the second period.
Sure, the goalie performance wasn't good by any means. But the defense of Utah was worse with it's lackluster performance.
The Mammoth allowed a lot more easy chances than they should've, which allowed Boston to jump all over Utah. The Mammoth were aruably out of the game before the second period even began. Tonight, Utah faces an equally dangerous team offensively in the Sabres.
Utah musts get better when it comes to defending and it also needs to have a better performance for Vejmelka. If the Mammoth can win this game tonight, then they will have won three out of the five road games. That would feel like a pretty big win for Utah.
The Prediction:
Record Tracker (2-1)
Last time I predicted Utah would win based off of it's first few games. This time I will predict that Utah will win because of how badly it performed on Thursday.
The message by the coaching staff to the team should've been that the 6-1 loss was unacceptable. Expect the defense to be stiff and the Mammoth to play an inspired brand of hockey. Utah wins 3-2 in a nice overall performance.
Hopefully Utah bounces back in a huge way tonight and forgets it's last loss rather quickly.
