As the 2026 NHL Draft is about to commence, it will be interesting to see who the Utah Mammoth decides to select with the 19th overall selection. Over the last few seasons, the Mammoth have definitely succeeded in drafting talent, which is important as Utah is about to make an important selection in 2026.

2025: Caleb Desnoyers

In the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the Mammoth got a pretty high pick: the 4th overall. The Mammoth used it to select 19-year-old Caleb Desnoyers. In the QJMHL, Desnoyers has become one of the best players and is now one of the Mammoth's top prospects. Desnoyers, in the 2025-26 season, scored 22 goals and added 56 assists in only 45 games, highlighting his offensive success. Utah isn't in dire need of Desnoyer's services at the moment, but Desnoyers could be in the NHL as early as next season. So far, the 4th overall selection made by the Mammoth has been a pretty solid one, and the Mammoth hope to see him succeed in the NHL soon.

2024: Tij Iginla

The 6th overall selection of the 2024 NHL Draft, Tij Iginla has had some unbelievable success in the WHL. Iginla was an interesting selection, given his Hall of Fame father, Jerome Iginla, which shows he was taught by one of the best you can be taught by. Iginla has perhaps become the best prospect in the organization, thanks to the fact that the 19-year-old cannot stop scoring goals and adding assists. In 48 games this past season in the WHL, Iginla scored 41 goals and added 49 assists, for a total of 90 points.

Iginla nearly averaged 2 points per game in the WHL this season, suggesting the Mammoth made a very good selection. Ultimately, Iginla may also see the NHL as soon as the 2026-27 season, and one can expect that Iginla will make a pretty significant and impressive impact, perhaps immediately.

2024: Cole Beaudoin

The Mammoth got two selections in the first round of the NHL Draft, with the 24th selection being from the Colorado Avalanche. Although some expect players selected later in the round not to be too good, the selection of Cole Beaudoin was a very good one. Beaudoin has been able to show that he can be an offensive force in the future for the Mammoth. In the OHL this last season, Beaudoin was able to put up 88 points, with 33 goals and 55 assists.

Beaudoin, 20, might not reach the NHL in the 2026-27 season, but he might have an impact sooner than later. The former first-rounder is probably going to see some time in the AHL before the NHL, depending on the needs of the team, but he remains a high prospect.

The recent success or the recent selections made by the Mammoth haven't yet reached the NHL. But so far, it seems like they have got a few good prospects on their hands. Whether the Mammoth trades these players or keeps them, they probably made some really nice selections and could have a few future superstars.
