The Utah Mammoth had been quiet so far today- but not any more. The Utah Mammoth have decided to trade for a veteran center, which may be the missing part of the team they need. The Mammoth have a ton of youth and assets, and it is beautiful to see that Utah is cashing them in for something to help the team massively. Utah is on the rise, and veteran superstars can definitely be a key centerpiece to a team's success.
Vincent Trocheck traded to Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth decided to cash in some of their youth and resources for superstar 32-year-old Vincent Trocheck. The Gold Medal winner Trocheck will add some nice offense and leadership to a team that needs it. Trocheck missed 15 totals games in the 2025-26 season, as in 67 games, Trocheck was able to score 16 goals and add 37 assists (53 points). Trocheck in the 2024-25 season scored 26 goals and added 33 assists, which was a total of only 59 points. Ultimately, Trochek offensively hasn't been too impressive in the last few seasons, but if he can stay healthy, he can still be quite an offensive force in Utah.
The center core now includes Nick Schmaltz, Logan Cooley, and Trocheck, with Trocheck adding some nice experience and leadership. The New York Rangers will get defenseman Sean Durzi, prospect Cole Beaudoin, and a 2027 3rd-round pick. Overall, Beaudoin, former 1st round selection, is by far the best player they got in return for Trocheck. For Utah, it is a pretty big win, at least for now. Utah has wanted Trocheck for a while and didn't get him at a bad price. What a move by the front office.
