The Utah Hockey Club does not have an easy schedule to kick off its inaugural 2024-25 season, and November looks to be every bit as difficult. It’s not fun to be the harbinger of bad news but remember, Utah’s taking over the Arizona Coyotes lineup, so there will be growing pains.
Anyway, why such a not-so-good forecast for Utah in November 2024, assuming all things remain equal? Take one glance at the slate of games ahead, and you’ll see why, but that doesn’t mean we won’t end this piece on a promising note.

It definitely doesn’t get any easier in November 2024
The Vegas Golden Knights are the first team to jump out, as Utah plays them at the beginning, middle, and end of the month. Yeah, we can thank the NHL for that one, but hey, it is what it is. That said, nobody in the NHL will have an easy time playing against Jack Eichel and company, and it’s tough to say whether Utah will win any of those three contests.
On November 5th, 7th, and 9th, Utah will face some of the best goaltenders in the game should Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg), Jordan Binnington (St. Louis), and Juuse Saros (Nashville) find themselves in the net. Winnipeg and St. Louis struggle offensively, so if Utah enjoys a pair of good defensive games, they’ll have a chance here. Nashville is the scariest team of the bunch after they acquired a solid number of seasoned veterans, and it won’t get any easier on November 13th when Utah plays Carolina.
Washington also got a makeover this past offseason, and after a surprise playoff appearance, they’re the last team we need to count out. Boston will be Cup contenders once again, so Utah will have their work cut out for them when they go on the road to face the Bruins.
But, things will get easier on this road trip with trips to Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Montreal. The Penguins are still a shell of what they used to be, so there’s an opportunity there, and the Maple Leafs never quite seem to get it right. Should Utah face the Leafs while the latter is on a cold streak, there’s another opportunity. Montreal is still rebuilding, so once again, Utah could easily string together a three-game winning streak.
Their penultimate game of the month - before facing the Golden Knights again - will come at home vs. the Edmonton Oilers. Home game or not, Edmonton is another tough team in the league and they could even have more talent than anyone else.
