NHL 25 leak shows how sharp the Utah Hockey Club’s uniforms look on the ice

We knew the Utah Hockey Club would look sharp, but we didn’t think they would look that sharp following a video courtesy of EA Sports NHL 25.

Fans of the new Utah Hockey Club can take yet another step closer to watching their favorite team play in 2024-25, as they now have a visual of what the league’s latest franchise will look like on the ice. Yesterday, video game fans everywhere caught a glimpse of the uniforms in EA Sports’ NHL 25 trailer, and wow, do they look sharper than ever.

Lately, we’ve only seen renditions of what the uniform would look like, and now, fans can see that they might just have an instant classic on their hands. But then again, with “stairstep lettering” comprising the name ‘Utah’ on both the home and road jerseys already drives that point home. Anyway, check out the clip below and see for yourself just how awesome your team’s threads look.

I know, right? Anyway, it won’t be long until we see these uniforms in action when the team takes to the ice in real life.

The NHL’s Central Division is home to historical franchises like the Chicago Blackhawks and the St. Louis Blues, but controversy will always plague the Blackhawks uniforms while it’s easy to say the Blues have long since gotten rid of their best look; even if they wear a variation of it as an alternate.

Utah Hockey Club’s uniforms could be among the sharpest in the Central

Meanwhile, you can argue that the Colorado Avalanche’s look doesn’t live up to the same mystique as the old Quebec Nordiques, especially the latter’s shade of blue. Ditto for what the Winnipeg Jets wear these days compared to their classic look, one that ironically has a loose connection to Utah since the team that moved to Salt Lake City happened to be the Arizona Coyotes.

Victory Green looks good on the Dallas Stars, but like the Avalanche, the uniform is so far behind that of its predecessors, the Minnesota North Stars, that the new Minnesota team, the Wild, may just end up adopting the color scheme. While that doesn’t seem to be the case now, Minnesota does wear the green and gold as an alternate.

Then there are the Nashville Predators, who lack a dark-colored jersey, something that has been the case since they made yellow (or gold?) their primary color. Good color scheme; I’ll give Nashville that; it’s just not done well.

Hey, if there’s one thing the Arizona Coyotes got right, at least in the end, it was their legendary kachina uniforms. Judging from the leak in NHL 25, it seems like the Utah Hockey Club has, at least in the early stages, done a good enough job of taking that tradition to Salt Lake City, albeit with a different look and color scheme.
