Just days before the season begins, several big names remain on the trade market. Some names have been heavily rumored to be with the Utah Mammoth.
One of those guys, however, may be finally getting traded: Kirill Marchenko.
Marchenko might be headed to Toronto
There is word this afternoon the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs are deep in discussions on a trade involving Kirill Marchenko.

Elliotte Friedman, an NHL insider for NHL Network and Sportsnet, reported that there is word that the Columbus Blue Jackets and Toronto Maple Leafs are in deep discussions regarding Marchenko. This is quite fascinating given how there were also rumors about Matthew Knies being traded.
Knies in return for Marchenko seems unlikely, but the Leafs don't have much to give up for the Russian superstar. Plus, another interesting development:

This means that this isn't a done deal by any means. In order for this to happen, it looks like an extension will have to occur.
With the talent that the Leafs have, it might be hard to reach a good deal for Toronto. Plus, the Blue Jackets have to want a good amount in return for Marchenko.
At this point, Utah seems to be gearing up for the regular season, but it looks like a domino is falling in the NHL that the Mammoth were rumored to be involved in.
