As the offseason begins, the trade market will be more active than usual. Already, there have been some major trades, including the Brady Tkachuk trade from the Ottawa Senators to the Florida Panthers. Thanks to the fact that the free agent class is pretty weak, there will be more trades than usual this offseason. Here are some of the biggest trades the Utah Mammoth have if they decide to make some major trades before next season, and they probably will.

Top prospects that may interest others teams

Tij Iginla

Probably the biggest asset the Utah Mammoth have is former 6th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft, Tij Iginla. Iginla is the son of Hall of Famer Jerome Iginla, but he has absolutely put up insane numbers in the WHL. The 19-year-old most recently scored 41 goals and added 49 assists in only 48 games, which translates to 90 points, and not to mention a 47 +/-, which is insane. The WHL isn't the AHL or even the NCAA, but these numbers are too big to ignore. The Mammoth would be wise not to trade Iginla unless they get a massive superstar. For now though their top prospect should be untouchable.

Caleb Desnoyers

Another high pick, Caleb Desnoyers, was selected 4th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft. Desnoyers, 19, is also a very high prospect, with both Iginla and Desnoyers almost single-handedly making the Mammoth's minor league system among the best in the NHL. Desnoyers offensively doesn't have the kind of stats Iginla has in the WHL, but in the QMJHL, Desnoyers has still been pretty good and should arrive in the NHL soon. But even then, Desnoyers has been one of the best in the QMJHL, and he is seen as a potential superstar. Desnoyers is also a huge asset and will be hard to trade for, even in a deal for a superstar.

Cole Beaudoin

Cole Beaudoin, who was picked 24th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, has also become a pretty high prospect. Beaudoin, 20, has also put up pretty amazing offensive stats, this time in the OHL. Beaudoin in the 2025-26 season, playing for the Barrie Colts, scored 33 goals and 55 assists in only 54 games, which is an amazing 88 points. Beaudoin would probably be much easier to let go of than both Desnoyers and Iginla, but that doesn't mean Beaudoin isn't still an amazing asset.

The Mammoth have more prospects as well, but these three first rounders highlight the teams biggest assets.

The Mammoth still have draft picks

In the 2026 draft, the Mammoth notably have one first-round pick (19th) and three second-round picks, which might be quite valuable in a trade. Utah also has two third-round picks, one fourth-rounder, two fifth-rounders, one sixth-rounder, and a seventh-round pick. The Mammoth essentially have their normal picks in the next drafts, meaning they have their normal first, second, etc.

If the Mammoth want to trade for a big player this offseason, and it is very likely they will make at least one trade this season, they have the assets, the youth, and overall the ability to do that. The Mammoth even have others in the NHL currently that would interest teams, meaning the team has a ton of talent and can become among the best teams in the NHL.
