The Utah Mammoth bounced back in their second game of the preseason with a nice 6-3 win on Tueday night over the Los Angeles Kings.
Utah scores six goals as several players impress
Daniil But, who is making a case to start in the top nine to begin the regular season, got things going for Utah with an early goal to make it 1-0.
Later in the first period, he was again heavily involved, setting up a nice opportunity for captain Clayton Keller, who scored to make it 2-0. The Kings responded to make it 2-1 before center Nick Schmaltz scored to make it 3-1 again. One of the newest Mammoth additions, No. 72 Anders Lee, then scored in the second period to make it 4-1.
But made a beautiful pass to set up Lee. The Kings did score twice more to make it 4-3. But Liam O'Brien put any worries of a comeback to bed with a nice goal early in the third period.
The game remained 5-3 until Lee scored another goal - an empty-net goal, to put the Kings to bed and secure the 6-3 win.
The Mammoth visit the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday Night to close preseason. Utah opens the regular season by hosting the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 1st.
