The Utah Mammoth are now 9-6-0 after losing another game in rather ugly fashion. The struggling Philadelphia Flyers managed to put together an offensive explosion. Lately, it just feels like the Mammoth can't get through a game without allowing more than two goals.

The last two wins have been in overtime, and the Flyers recently beat Utah 6-3. It's clear an issue has arisen. Goaltending.

What can Utah do about its goaltending situation?

The Mammoth took an ugly loss on Sunday, and Karle Vejmelka struggled again. He is currently 6-5-0 with a terrible 872 SV% (42nd) and is allowing 3.31 goals per game (40th). There are 32 starters in the NHL, and he doesn't even rank among them.

Now, the defense hasn't been good, but Vejmelka has been average at best this season. Backup goalie Sebastian Cossa is a rookie and has played in four games thus far. He himself has bad numbers, but is 3-1 and has had some pretty good moments. Cossa could be a good goalie this season, but that's a ton of pressure on a young guy.

Utah has to hope Vejmelka improves and Cossa keeps putting things together, but this goaltending situation is worrisome. This is a great Mammoth team, but terrible goaltending and a lack of solid defense are holding it down. Utah has some other guys it may have to turn to, including Jaxson Stauber and Michael Hrabal, but it would really rather not do that.

The Mammoth are faced with a pretty rough situation. Honestly, if things don't improve soon, the Mammoth need to start asking teams about some good goalies.

Utah can't be held down by lackluster goaltending, just like it has, that's just not okay.
