The Utah Mammoth looked great on Tuesday night as they visited the New Jersey Devils and came away with a good 5-3 win.

It was the first time the Mammoth had defeated the Devils in franchise history. Unfortunately, Mikhail Sergachev left the game with an injury after the second period and didn't return. Not much was known about his status until this morning.

Sergachev is on the ice in Boston

Against the Devils, the defenseman compiled three assists and was helping out Utah massively before MacKenzie Weegar tried clearing the puck out of the offensive zone.

The puck hit Sergachev directly on the helmet, raising serious concerns about his health. He left the game, and the team provided no update on his health. Just about two weeks ago, a similiar injury occurred to superstar defenseman Brock Faber.

Faber suffered a fractured skull and is out indefinitely after having surgery. Thankfully, Sergachev's injury seems nothing like that. According to Cole Bagley of KSLSports, Sergachev was on the ice this morning.

According to Bagley as well, head coach Andre Tourigny also said that Sergachev will play tonight.

This is really good news considering the importance of the defenseman who is critical to the offense.

In other news, Sebastian Cossa looks set for his second start of the season. Cossa allowed just one goal in a 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last Saturday. Techinically, Cossa leads the league in goals alllowed per game.

He will look to help Utah secure its second straight win and reclaim the top spot in the Central Division. The Boston Bruins are now 2-2-0 after losing two straight games and will look to bounce back at 5:00 MT tonight.
