The one player that Mammoth fans might dislike the most

In 2026, Utah Mammoth fans felt for the first time what the playoffs feel like. Unfortunately, though, the Stanley Cup runner-up, the Vegas Golden Knights, and one player ended the Mammoth season. It would be no surprise to see fans dislike the now New York Ranger goal scorer.

In 2026, Utah Mammoth fans felt for the first time what the playoffs feel like. Unfortunately, though, the Stanley Cup runner-up, the Vegas Golden Knights, and one player ended the Mammoth season. It would be no surprise to see fans dislike the now-New York Ranger, Pavel Dorofeyev. Sure, the Mammoth weren't likely to go far, but they were definitely competitive against the VGK while others, including the Colorado Avalanche, weren't.

Mammoth fans may really dislike Pavel Dorofeyev

Dorofeyev may actually get the title of the first-ever mammoth-killer, as Dorofeyev carried the VGK at times to defeat Utah. The Mammoth went up 2-1 in the series before game four would see the VGK strike back. Utah led 4-3 late in the 3rd period before the game was tied, and the VGK won in OT. Mammoth fans may really dislike Dorofeyev for what occurred in game five. Utah and Vegas went back and forth as Dorofeyev scored 2 goals in the first two periods, and Vegas led 3-2. Then Utah scored two goals in the 3rd period and went up 4-3 late. With just 53 seconds left, Dorofeyev would complete the hat trick and tie the game up. Again, in OT, the VGK shorthanded would hand the Mammoth a loss.

In game six, Utah was overpowered by the VGK, who got zero points from Dorofeyev but still won 5-1. Mammoth fans probably dislike a lot of different players on the VGK, but game five would've changed the whole series. Had the Mammoth been up 3-2 in the series, Utah would've had a game seven in Utah. What's worse is that Dorofeyev carried Vegas across the finish line in front of the Mammoth fans. Utah fans will remember the two blown leads in the 3rd period that allowed Vegas to crawl back into the series and win, but they can't forget the individual effort of Dorofeyev.

Luckily, Dorofeyev is out of the Western Conference as the Rangers traded for him. Things will definitely be interesting when the Rangers play the Mammoth. Utah will have a former Ranger Vincent Trocheck, and the Rangers will have Dorofeyev, whom they may or may not have a grudge against. For now, the one team that all Mammoth fans alike dislike is easily one team- the Golden Knights.
