The one superstar who strangely remains untraded

One of the biggest names still on the trade market is Dylan Larkin, who surprisingly, hasn't been traded yet. Things have actually gotten really desperate, with many teams rumored as fits for Larkin; at one point, even the Utah Mammoth were mentioned.

One of the biggest names still on the trade market is Dylan Larkin, who, surprisingly, hasn't been traded yet. Things have actually gotten really desperate, with many teams rumored as fits for Larkin; at one point, even the Utah Mammoth were mentioned. Now, things are just quiet when it comes to Larkin, and over the last few weeks, a strange development has occurred. Not many know if the Detroit Red Wings are selling too high, or if Larkin, who has a no-trade clause, isn't willing to be traded to many places.

The Larkin, Red Wing situation is still a mystery

Apparently, Larkin isn't exactly willing to move away from his top three teams he originally had on his trade list- the Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and Minnesota Wild. However, the likelihood of going to Vegas or Florida is little to none, and the Wild haven't been able to get the Larkin trade done. Apparently, it was even rumored that the Red Wings wanted Matt Boldy in return, a 25-year-old superstar who scored 42 goals and 85 points. The thing is that the Wild would be absolutely insane to trade Boldy away, who seems like he could score 50 goals in the future pretty easily. With that being said, both Detroit and Larkin are making the trade harder- by both sides asking for pretty insane things.

The Mammoth were rumored to be interested in Larkin, but obviously, Utah can't even trade for him anymore. Utah has already traded for and signed two players who take up all available salary space. Ultimately, meaning that they can no longer trade for Larkin if they were even interested. Not to mention, the potential asking price seems to be incredibly high for Larkin, which Utah wouldn't be interested in. Larkin, for now, remains a Red Wing, and the situation is pretty complicated. Larkin needs to expand his list of teams to teams that can actually afford him.

Meanwhile, Detroit should not ask for an arm and a leg for Larkin. Boldly, if he was asked for by the Red Wings, is an example of a player that teams aren't willing to trade. Larkin is good and is a superstar, but shouldn't be shopped for the whole world. Utah didn't get Larkin and won't get him, but even with that, they cannot be disappointed with the offseason they have had.
