Chris Armstrong, the President of the Utah Mammoth, provided fans with an exciting update on how the renovations of the Delta Center have made the arena look.
Utah hopes to create one of the greatest arenas in the NHL (and NBA). The Delta Center was electric in the postseason and in 2025-26, but it may be even more exciting in the 2026-27 season.
"It's just incredible"
Chris Armstrong spoke about the summer renovations and what fans should expect:
"It's just incredible... It's an incredible undertaking; I think I read 700 tons of steel... SME steel. Over 230,000 square feet of reimagined space; in the north, spectacular sightlines... Brand new premium gondolas... In the upper reaches of the building that provide a great opportunity (and) more access for us. So really excited to see it put back together... And all the dust removed and ready to go."

By the end of this renovation, the total capacity for hockey games will be approximately 17,000, up from about 12,500 before the renovation. Technically, the total arena capacity will be 19,000 (for Jazz games), making the arena among the largest in the NHL.
This will definitely make Mammoth home games all the more exciting. And hopefully make the Delta Center one of the loudest places in hockey. Especially during the postseason.
This renovation is very exciting for Mammoth fans as Utah looks to solidify its arena as one of the best in hockey. It will be intriguing to see how the arena looks and sounds come October 1st - the first game of the season for Utah as they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
