Utah reveals the lines and starting goalie for the first preseason game

The Utah Mammoth have revealed their lines and goalies for tonight's first preseason game. This is the first time the Mammoth since May 1st they will play hockey.

Utah will open the 2026-27 preseason at the Colorado Avalanche - the reigning Central Division champions.

The starters and the likely starting goalie revealed

Tonight's game will feature some interesting names to start, according to Cole Bagley of KSLSports. Notably, Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, and others won't play tonight. However, many intriguing potential stars will play, including mega prospect Caleb Desnoyers, Daniil But, and even new addition Joshua Roy.

It will be very interesting to see how some of those guys perform, especially Desnoyers. The top defensemen will include some interesting names as well, like Artem Duda and Max Psenicka. Some of those youngers guys may have an impact sooner rather than later.

As for the starting goalie, it will most likely be the newly acquired and former first-round pick, Sebastian Cossa. Michael Hrabal, a highly touted prospect in his own right, was ahead of Cossa on the roster spot, but Cossa is more likely to start tonight's game. This makes sense thanks to the fact that Cossa will likely be goalie No. 2 in the 2026-27 season.

Getting Cossa going and ready for this season will be big for Utah. If the Mammoth don't trade for a goalie like Connor Hellebuyck, then Cossa will have huge shoes to fill.

It will be exciting to see how Utah performs in its first preseason game. Utah will be at the Los Angeles Kings next on September 22.
