On Tuesday, the Utah Hockey Club avoided a season series sweep and dominated Seattle Kraken 7-1 at Delta Center.
Seven goals is their season high. Utah scored three goals in the first and four in the second. It was a dominant performance.
Utah's right winger Dylan Guenther collected three assists and Mikhail Sergachev had a good game with three points (one goal, two assists).
Sergachev scored his career-high 15th goal of the season, the third most goals by a defenseman in a franchise's inaugural season. Sergachev opened the scoring at 2:44 of the first period, firing a wrist shot from the point to give Utah a 1-0 lead.
Guenther has 56 points this season (26 goals, 30 assists) through 66 games played
Goaltender Karel Vejmelka made 18 saves for Utah (36-30-12). Vejmelka made his 21st consecutive start on the net. Vejmelka has been playing sensational down the stretch for Utah and has won four of its past five games (4-1-0).
The captain, Clayton Keller, made it 2-0, beating Kraken's goalie, Joey Daccord, with a wrist shot on a 5-on-3 power play. Keller finished the game with two points. It's the second consecutive game where Keller recorded two points (one goal, one assist).
Kaller Yamamoto scored on a one-timer on the power play for a 3-0 lead. Lawson scored 16 seconds into the second period, making it 4-0 when his wrist shot went off Daccord's glove and into the net.
Logan Cooley stretched the lead to 5-0, scoring off a pass from Guenther. Nick Schmaltz scored Utah's third power-play goal, tapping in a rebound off a shot from Guenther to make it 6-0.
Michael Carcone made it 7-0 with a wrist shot that beat Daccord on the blocker side.
Jared McCann scored the only goal for the Kraken and came during a power-play situation.

Utah had seven different players that contributed to the scoreboard. Utah is getting closer and closer to the Minnesota Wild for the second wild-card spot. If Utah can perform like this in the next few games, they could enter this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Utah has four games remaining in the season.
Utah will host the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. After Nashville, Utah will play the remaining games of the season on the road against the Dallas Stars, Predators, and St Louis Blues.
