The Utah Mammoth have already seen the great majority of their offseason take place with multiple great moves. And for the most part, the most exciting parts of the NHL offseason have already taken place. However, there remain some really intriguing free agents for some teams to take a chance on if they so desire, perhaps even affecting the Mammoth, because some of these free agents could be game-changers for other teams.

Anthony Mantha , F

Anthony Mantha, for the most part of his career, has had bad injury issues, and Mantha, 31, was also non-existent in the playoffs for the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, Mantha still scored 33 goals and added 31 assists in 81 games in the 2025-26 season. Mantha's career year means he may still provide very valuable goal-scoring. Whoever signs Mantha may regret it if he lands on the IR again, but when healthy, Mantha is very good. At the age of 31, Mantha may not be looking for a good deal to others team as by the time he is 33 or older, he may not get a lot of money, which further explains why he is stilll an FA.

Patrick Laine, F

Patrick Laine is in a similar situation to Mantha. Laine, 28, has had even worse injury issues. In the last three seasons combined, Laine has played only 75 games but scored 26 goals and added 17 assists. Laine played only 5 games in the last season with the Montreal Canadians. Despite being made of glass, Laine is a goal-scorer and still 28, with 226 career goals, including multiple 30+ goal seasons and even a 44-goal season. If Laine stays healthy, he is guaranteed to provide a lot of goals, but the last time he was truly healthy was the 2018-19 season. It isn't surprising that Laine hasn't been signed yet even with his undeniable talent.

Logan Stanley, D

Logan Stanley, also 28, is a 6'7'' defenseman who can provide offense but also be a great defender. The 2016 first-round selection also has had some injury concerns. However, Stanley did play in 76 games this last season with the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres. Stanley scored 9 goals and added 17 assists (26 points). Stanley can definitely be a difference maker and should be picked up by a team sooner than later.

Patrick Kane, F

The legend, Patrick Kane, has 508 career goals and 892 assists for an insane 1500 career points. Kane, although turning 38 this November, has shown he can still score goals as he has done in the past. His age alone is probably keeping teams away from Kane. However, over the last three seasons, Kane has scored at least 16 goals, with the 2025-26 season being the 16-goal season, even though he played in 67 games. Kane, the American GOAT of hockey, probably, has proven that he can still score and should also be signed soon.

Vladimir Tarasenko

The former St. Louis Blue superstar Vladimir Tarasenko ranks among the top goal scoring FA's available. Tarasenko finally put himself on the map again after a bad season that was riddled with injuries. In 75 games for the Minnesota Wild, Tarasenko scored 24 goals and added 23 assists. Tarasenko with the Blues seemed to constantly put up 30+ goal seasons before being massively affected by injuries. In the 2024-25 season with the Detroit Red Wings, Tarasenko finally had an almost fully healthy season, playing 80 games. Tarasenko, 34, is risky, but he can and will still provide goal-scoring.
