The Utah Mammoth took down the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in an epic clash on Thursday behind a mammoth effort from Logan Cooley. Today, the Mammoth hope to take down the Philadelphia Flyers and extend their win streak to two games.
Can Utah win its second straight game and begin to correct course in 2026-27?
Who: Utah Mammoth (9-5-0) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (3-8-4)
Where: ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+.
When: Nov. 1, 2:00 p.m. MT
What does Utah need to do to win?
The Flyers are currently 3-8-4 and aren't even averaging two goals per game. Not to mention, the Flyers' defense hasn't been much better. Utah needs to outscore its opponent. If the Mammoth can score a lot in this game, then they will likely overpower Philly.
The Flyers' goalies haven't been bad, but they haven't been great either. Scoring goals will be possible and necessary for the Mammoth to win. Allowing too many goals lately has been a problem for Utah, so playing some better defense is also critical.
The Prediction:
Record Tracker (8-3)
The Mammoth should be able to take down the Flyers pretty easily. This won't be easy, but Utah should win. I will take Utah to win this game 5-2. As was stated prior to the game against the Penguins, the Mammoth needed to have a breakout from guys like Vincent Trocheck, Cooley, and even Anders Lee.
Cooley was able to break out. It will be interesting to see whether any others can break out onto the scene as well. The Mammoth have a very winnable game tonight.
