As NHL fans await next season, a new change is to take place: an 84-game season. With that being said, Utah Mammoth fans are definitely going to be excited for two more chances to see their team win, and of course, the 2026-27 schedule has been released as well. After finishing 43-33-6 last season, Utah will look to build on that and even compete for the Central Division, which is probably the hardest division to win in the NHL right now. This schedule is quite interesting.
2026-27 schedule revealed
Firstly, the Mammoth will have to contend with the Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, and even the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues, both teams that have made the playoffs relatively recently. Utah will have to perform well to reach the postseason again- and they will have to perform amazingly to win the Central Division. Utah will open the season against the Chicago Blackhawks at home before heading on the road for five straight games. Perhaps the most important part of the schedule isn't the beginning or the middle, but the end. The Mammoth are going to play almost exclusively Western Conference teams at the end of the season.
Utah will play an insane amount of 13 Western Conference teams in a row to end the season. This could help or hurt Utah, but at the very least, this stretch should be very important. With the final 13 games of the season, many teams will be making their playoff pushes, including potentially Utah if things go wrong next season. Of course, in the wild-card race or even in the division race, the teams that could have a massive effect on Utah's season trajectory are none other than Western Conference teams. If Utah can handle this part of the schedule, then having this many games in a row against rivals could definitely help them.
Or not, of course. Ultimately, though, with less than three months to go, Mammoth fans and NHL fans alike are looking forward to the start of the next season. Hockey is growing, and the NHL is thriving. With a new look Mammoth team as well, it will be very exciting to see how good Utah can become in the 2026-27 season.
