The Utah Hockey Club could have a favorable December 2024 and January 2025, so what will everything look like heading into the important stretch of the season?

The Utah Hockey Club should enjoy a fine December 2024 and January 2025 if they stay healthy and get through their first two months of the season without much incident. So can we say the same for February 2025, again, assuming that they won’t be injury-riddled heading into this ultra-important part of the season?

One thing to remember about February 2024 is that we’ll be seeing the Four Nations Face-Off, so this month will contain substantially fewer games. That said, every contest in February will count because you know what’s coming in March and April 2025 - an ultra-heated playoff race.

Utah Hockey Club could have favorable matchups before Four Nations Face-Off

Overall, this is a rather favorable schedule, with the St. Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets factoring in as manageable opponents. Those could be momentum builders for Utah before they square off against the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals in a back-to-back, and neither game will be easy.

Then, it’s the two-week break while we all get to enjoy the Four Nations Face-Off, which should be more than fun to watch. Utah will once again find itself in a road game against what could be a tough opponent in the Los Angeles Kings. However, the Kings are the ultimate wild card in this slate of games, and Utah could match up well against them.

The homestand to end the month won’t start out in Utah’s favor, with the Vancouver Canucks coming to town to kick it off. But ending the month vs. the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks could give Utah a pair of wins if they play some solid hockey regardless of what happens in the Los Angeles and Vancouver matchups.

Overall, February 2025 doesn’t look incredibly easy, but it’s also no deal-breaker, especially if Utah can build enough momentum to play Carolina and Washington well, before the league heads into the break.
