Connor Hellebuyck remains untraded despite the fact that the superstar goalie demanded a trade months ago.

The Winnipeg Jets still haven't found a good suitor for Hellebuyck. The Utah Mammoth, however, may need to make a strong offer for Hellebuyck.

Do the Mammoth need a better goalie?

The Mammoth losses are the following: 4-2 at the New York Rangers, 6-1 at the Boston Bruins, and 6-2 vs. the Edmonton Oilers.

To say the least, the Mammoth have struggled to get good goalie play in losses. Plus, the Mammoth have been outscored 7-0 in the first period in losses, showing their incapability of keeping their opponents off of the board early in losses.

Karel Vejmelka and Sebastian Cossa have both struggled to stay consistent early in the season. Cossa's last start came against the Bruins, where he was pulled after allowing three first-period goals.

That is already concerning, but Vejmelka has been somewhat inconsistent so far. Much of the defensive effort in those games has been ugly, and the goalie play hasn't been good. The Mammoth simply don't have a superstar goalie to back up their talented team.

The Jets have been stubborn so far and don't seem willing to trade Hellebuyck for a small package. But would Utah be willing to trade a lot for a superstar goalie?

The Jets probably want a goalie like Cossa, Vejmelka, or even Michael Hrabal in return for Hellebuyck, in addition to something else.

Utah may be willing to pull the trigger if that "something else" isn't too much.

We're only about 10 games into the season, plus Utah is 6-3-0. But of course, the Mammoth don't want to get blown out every other game. As the season advances, winning more often will be critical for a playoff-hopeful team like the Mammoth.

Hellebuyck could be the missing piece to the puzzle if Utah continues to struggle to keep it's opponents off of the board.
