The Utah were unable to follow up a nice 3-0 win on Saturday when they fell to the San Jose Sharks 3-1 on Sunday.
The Mammoth fall to the Sharks in game two of the rookie showcase
The Mammoth played with the same aggression and physicality they showed when they defeated the VGK 3-0 on Saturday.
However, Utah's elite goaltending held the opponent to one goal. Michael Hrabal, a highly touted goalie prospect, had 19 saves on 21 shots. The Sharks added one more goal with an empty-netter.
A goal from Andre Molgachev gave Utah a chance to win, but a combination of not-so-great luck and great goaltending led the Sharks to a win.

Hrabal's first goal came after he failed to handle a puck behind the net and didn't set up well in his crease. Utah also had two breakaways, including one for Gabe Smith, who unfortunately fumbled the puck. Both opportunities were wasted by the puck being fumbled.
San Jose was a remarkably fast team and took better advantage of its opportunities, but there wasn't much to dislike about Utah. Utah was still strong and physical, the identity that this team wants to form.
Hrabal will likely finish the tournament off in the net, and he himself has been a bright spot of the team so far.
Utah finishes the tournament against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. So far, the team's youngsters have looked great.
