As the Utah Mammoth look to get better and become contenders, there are some teams they really despise. The question is, who are the top three rivals of the Mammoth after just its second season of existence? It will definitely be entertaining to see the popularity of the Mammoth go up as they seek to make some teams rivals.

3. St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues and Mammoth just feel like perfect rivals, and the NHL is cementing this by playing both teams in the final game of the season again. The Blues and Mammoth were pretty close to having an exciting finish to the season that would see the teams play for the Western Wild Card spot. At the very least, the Central Division could be very exciting this season as teams like the Mammoth and Blues could be in a dog fight for a Wild Card spot. With the Blues being young like Utah, the rivals should continue to be rivals with one another for quite a while.

2. Colorado Avalanche

It would definitely make a lot of sense for the two teams, which seem to be themed around snowy mountains or snow itself, to be rivals. Not to mention, the states Utah and Colorado are rivals in general, so it makes a ton of sense for Colorado to be a big rival of Utah. The 2027 Discover NHL Winter Classic will take place in Utah between the two teams, which makes a lot of sense, as no teams are more involved with the snow and Arctic than the Colorado Avalanche and the Mammoth. The Central Division is bound to be rough next season, so both teams will look to win against each other to compete for the division. Both teams are looking to contend.

1. Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights are definitely among the Mammoth's top rivals heading into next season. Again, both teams are geographically close to one another. In fact, by moving to Utah, the Mammoth took much of the market for Vegas's team. Things get even more intense between the two teams when the VGK eliminated the Mammoth 4-2 in the first round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The VGK would go on to reach the Stanley Cup Finals before losing. This, of course, just gives Mammoth fans a reason to hate the Golden Knights. The good news? The Mammoth have gotten better over the offseason, and the VGK haven't. In other words, Vegas, the Mammoth ARE COMING. Ultimately, it should be fun to see these teams take each other on in the future.
