The Utah Hockey Club is coming to life more, more, and more as we get closer to the puck dropping to commence the 2024-25 season. While we got a couple of glimpses of Utah’s uniform already, we still didn’t get a full-on look at what the threads would look like on the ice in real life. At least, not until earlier this week.
This one took place at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase, and if the threads look that good on the ice in what was a larger sample size than before, just think of how they will look when they’re playing opponents at 5-on-5.
You may already know what the uniform will look like just based on what we’d seen from those glimpses and of the jerseys themselves, with the home threads comprising the rock black base with the stairstep white lettering spelling out the word ‘Utah’ and outlined in mountain blue.

Chris Creamer of the reliable Sports Logos has a fantastic article on the subject, and it’s one that will give fans an incredible close-up of just how sharp these will look. And if you peer at the unis closely, you’ll also see the inaugural season logo is shoulder patches while the team’s secondary logo - the one shaped in the state of Utah, is on the helmets.
And before I go, I have to ask: You know what’s great about preseason hockey? It’s the fact that it lets us see new NHL uniforms in action without waiting for the regular season. Utah will join another pair of teams - the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings - in debuting a new look, and that will occur in the Rookie Faceoff Tournament.
What’s also cool about that is Utah will face the Kings in Game 2 on September 14th, and as long as no team will be wearing practice uniforms - this can happen at times - look for a pair of new uniforms to take the ice.
